It occurred to me during my recent work trip that many people aren’t aware of the Hmong people. Most Hmong people are concentrated in Wausau and Eau Claire, WI, as well as Minneapolis and Los Angeles. As the Hmong people are a stateless people, it’s likely that if you aren’t from one of those cities, you haven’t had the chance to learn about this amazing culture!

The Hmong people originate from South China, Laos, and Vietnam. During the Vietnam war, they assisted the United States and were left as refugees at the end of the war. About 4.5% of all Hmong people in the world now reside in Eau Claire WI!

The Hmong New Year is rapidly approaching and it’s an excellent time to visit! Come enjoy food, art, and craft vendors and enjoy the rich Hmong culture. For a little more information, here are a few great resources!
