Eau Claire Wisconsin is an up and coming city typically known for it’s college and bars but most people don’t know that it offers Wisconsin’s visitors endless opportunities for entertainment. Pushed by the influence of Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Eau Claire has been cultivating an economy of creative locals for years.

I recommend checking out the beautiful new venue in town, the Pablo Center, pictured below. It was built at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire river and features broadway shows, national artists, as well as local musicians and theatre groups.

However, there are plenty of free outdoor concerts throughout the summer as well! The Eau Claire Sounds of Summer series runs from June to August in Phoenix Park, just across the river from the Pablo Center.

For something a little more romantic and quiet, you could also pop in at Justin Vernon’s bar, The Lakely for a delicious cocktail and live Jazz.
