Eau Claire is not only surrounded by nature, it has nature strewn throughout the city. In fact, the downtown is split into two by the Eau Claire and Chippewa Rivers meeting at it’s center. Due to this, Eau Claire is named for the French word for “Clear Water.” So, if you love to kayak, boat, canoe, fish, or swim, you can drive a few minutes in any direction and find fun!
Eau Claire isn’t just about the water though! It offers amazing outdoor options for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and cycling. There are winter sports as well but why?
